Building school connectivity across Papua New Guinea
Jesse Williams travelled to Papua New Guinea expecting to be a visitor. What he found instead was a country where most schools have no internet at all; where students and teachers work without access to the resources that classrooms elsewhere take for granted.
The timing matters. Papua New Guinea recently approved Starlink, which makes satellite-based internet connection possible in places where laying cable never will be. For the first time, the barrier isn't the terrain. It's whether anyone chooses to do the work.
The Williams Foundation was inaugurated on July 1, 2026, with a single goal: reliable internet in every high school and post-secondary institution in the country.
For Jesse, the reason is personal. He built his first businesses on the early internet, and the access he had as a teenager is the reason those businesses were possible at all.
